Hi there! I'm Eline, 27 years old, from the Netherlands.

I discovered the joy of travelling years ago and love to meet new people, stay at locals and discover amazing places. My preference goes to non-touristic places such as small towns, but of course I'm also a fan of all the highlights in the world (if they weren't beautiful they wouldn't be that famous, right?). I would say I'm a bit of a random traveler; although I'm very organized in my daily life I usually hit the road without any plan. Spontaneous adventures are the best!

Next to that I'm a very open-minded and friendly person and always in for everything! Except for eating meat/fish.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

On a journey to Turkey 10 years ago I met a lot of couchsurfers and they totally convinced me to join the community. Everyone was so positive about their experiences and I decided I wanted that as well! I'm super excited to meet locals and discover the 'real' culture of a country and this seems the best way possible.
Before I joined couchsurfing I always had people staying at my place whom I didn't know as well, so it actually wasn't that much of a big step.

Interests

I like to play double bass, read, cook and sew my own clothes. I'm also always up for some spontaneous dancing: my dinner parties are famous for always ending up in a dance party (but this doesn't mean I'm a good dancer haha)

Music, Movies, and Books

I love books from Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Sylvia Plath, Milan Kundera etc. Some people say my book/movie taste is a bit strange because i prefer books and movies where there is not happening too much, but in my opinion this is way more exciting!
My music taste is very broad, ranging from jazz to punk. A couple of my favorites are The Smiths, Local Natives and Radiohead.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Years ago i went to Qatar to debate in Arabic after only studying the language for half a year. I've never done something that was so fun and embarrassing at the same time. I met the best people and discovered that Qatar has an amazing night-life, but that didn't help much for the debating ;)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I would love to cook a meal for you, sew your clothes, draw you with my eyes closed or teach you some Dutch.
