About Me

I’m a compassionate and purpose-driven woman with a strong background in nursing, sociology, economics, and human & African studies. My passion lies in improving lives — physically, emotionally, and socially. As both a healthcare professional and a social thinker, I strive to create a meaningful impact in the communities I serve.

I'm deeply committed to volunteering through Rotary International and Operation Smile, where I contribute to health missions and humanitarian work. Sharing my Ethiopian culture and learning from others around the world fuels my love for connection, diversity, and understanding.

Above all, I'm a proud mother — raising my daughter with love, strength, and a sense of purpose. Together, we travel, grow, and celebrate life with gratitude and service.

✨ Living to serve. Learning to grow. Loving every step of the journey. ✨

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Hi! I'm a migration nurse and volunteer who loves meeting people, learning new cultures, and sharing my own Ethiopian roots. I use Couchsurfing to connect with kind, open-minded hosts and experience places through local eyes — not as a tourist, but as a learner and friend. I enjoy cultural exchange, good conversations, and simple, meaningful moments. 🌍✨

Interests

Nurse. Sociologist. Culture Lover. Humanitarian.
I'm passionate about improving lives — whether through healthcare, social understanding, or simple acts of kindness. As a nurse and a sociologist, I believe in healing both body and soul.

I love volunteering through Rotary International and Operation Smile, sharing my Ethiopian culture, and learning from others around the world. Traveling with my daughter has deepened my love for connection, growth, and joyful living.

My mission is simple: to help, to grow, and to make a difference — one smile, one story, and one step at a time. 🌍💙

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I had the incredible opportunity to volunteer with Operation Smile and attend my very first facial surgery for a young girl with a severe cleft palate and facial deformity. The surgery lasted over 6 hours, and when I saw her after the operation — her face transformed, her smile possible — I was overwhelmed with emotion. I silently whispered, "Thank you, God."
It was a moment that reminded me why I do what I do — to help bring healing, hope, and dignity to others. 💛

Teach, Learn, Share

As a migration nurse working with an international organization and a volunteer actively engaged in civil society, I’m passionate about creating change through knowledge, compassion, and action.

Through my experience, I have the privilege to train others on gender, development, and occupational safety and also serve on a board of directors where we work to empower communities and support inclusive growth.

I believe in a life where we teach what we know, learn from every person we meet, and share our journeys to inspire others.

Whether I’m working in the field, delivering training, or volunteering with Rotary International and Operation Smile, my goal remains the same:
💡 To serve with heart, grow through experience, and lift others as I climb.

What I Can Share with Hosts

As a guest or host, I believe in sharing kindness, respect, and meaningful conversations. I can offer a warm, friendly atmosphere, stories from my experiences as a migration nurse and volunteer, and deep cultural exchange from my Ethiopian heritage.

I love to cook simple traditional meals, share coffee, and talk about life, travel, health, culture, and community work. I’m also a good listener, open-minded, and happy to help or support wherever I can — even just with a smile or peaceful energy.

Let’s learn from each other and create beautiful memories. 🌍☕🍲
