I'm an American living and working in Oviedo, Spain as an English Language and Culture Assistant in a high school. I've spent one year in Oviedo teaching. Last year I lived in Madrid and was a teaching assistant in a primary school. Both experiences have been fantastic in very different ways. Before any of that, I studied abroad in Seville, Spain in fall 2011...an experience that started an obsession with Spain and returning to the country post-university graduation.

In university I studied International Studies, Spanish, and Political Science, but honestly, at the moment I have no clue what I want to do with those things once I go back to the States. I like to say that I'm not nervous about that, but realistically...I totally am. But I still have a year until I have to deal with that :)

I try to take life one day at a time, and I'm a firm believer that things happen the way their meant to happen; there's some big picture plan for all of us, and all the things that happen are just a part of that plan, leading to something bigger, even if it's hard to see that at the time. Keeps me positive. Despite that mentality though, I do enjoy worrying and playing the "what if" game occasionally; but I try to keep it to a minimum haha

I like meeting people, but sometimes I can be shy. So, I'm hoping getting to know people through Couchsurfing can help cure me of that, at least a little!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love JRR Tolkien. I really do. It's so nerdy, but I don't care. Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, The Silmarillion, books, movies, all of it.

I also really like Inception. I've watched it a thousand times, and could watch it a thousand more and still enjoy it.

Books, I enjoy those books where someone tries something crazy for a year and then writes about their experience. Harry Potter is also fantastic. Like many people of my generation, it'll always be a magical weak spot.
