My name is Elisabeth and I am originally from Austria. I have just finished my exchange semester in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, so I want to travel around Southeast Asia for one month. I am still very new to the world of travelling, so I really appreciate some insider tips or travel companions.

I am currently in the middle of my bachelor of business informatics. My university is located in Linz, Austria which is a small industrial city. This semester I took a leap of faith and tried to study abroad for one semester in Indonesia. This semester turned out to be one of my best experiences in my life and it made me realize how much I love discovering new cultures in depth. I am very sad that this semester is coming to an end now, but I am excited what is ahead of me.

In my free time I love to go out into nature for walks, go horseback riding and to practice drawing.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting new people, especially from different backgrounds. I also like to get to know new places from a local perspective, not only a tourists viewpoint. I am always thankful for advice and help, as I am still very new to travelling, especially travelling solo. I also love to hang out in a coffee shop or in a bar for hours. The best memories do not mostly come from the touristic places, but from the people I spend my time with.

Interests

I try to be open minded when it comes to new things and I tend to enjoy lots of different activities. I love nature as well as cities and being active as well as being relaxed. Thing that I love in particular is being creative and being around animals.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to music all the time and really love rock, blues and metal, but I also have a lot of guilty pleasures when it comes to early 2000s pop. I really love Netflix and I currently prefer Series over movies. Series I really love are Bojack Horseman, Black Mirror, Stranger Things, Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you a bit (Austrian) German, I know some great swear words 😅 I also love drawing, but I need more motivation to do more, so I am happy to teach you something.
