Overview
About Me
Hey, I'm Elisa, a student from Budapest. I'm half Chinese, therefore I have a slight kink for dumplings.
I'm currently planning a gap year because I would like to travel a bit and get some working experience before deciding on my further studies. Unfortunately I cannot host you, since I live with my family, but I am always up for meeting travelers. I love walking but it's not really part of the Hungarian culture. So I would be indeed very happy to have you as my guest, and help you explore Budapest by walk meanwhile getting to know each other a bit as well. :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love talking to strangers, which is exactly what CS allows me to do. I have met many amazing people who have had an impact on my mindset and personality.
Interests
I went to an Arts and Humanities class for 8 years, which sparked my interest in painting, and creative writing. I like making montages especially from old books and newspapers. When the weather allows me, I prefer to be outside either drinking or doing less unhealthy activities. I love meeting new people especially if they can teach me something new, be it a skill or just a different type of mentality.

Music, Movies, and Books
I listen to almost every genre, now rap too, my favorite bands are Imagine Dragons, Odesza, ALT-J, Platon Karataev, The Cat Empire, Casper, Portugal the man but I am quite horrible with names, because I tend to disregard the artists themselves meanwhile listening to music.
I am not a big fan of series, but there are a few that I adore such as Rick and Morty, Black Mirror, and the Handmaid's Tale. As for the movies I really love Clockwork Orange , Fear and Loathing, a Beautiful mind, Trainspotting and art movies (like Amelie, 3 identical strangers, Melancholy) I also like documentaries such as Chernobyl. (Honestly, at this point I think everyone loves it.)There is an open air cinema in Budapest and another one which is rather a ruin pub / art cinema. Once you are here, I would be happy to have a movie night with you.
Books:
Antal Szerb - Journey By Moonlight,
Murakami Haruki - Kafka on the Shore
Kundera - Life is elsewhere
I read a lot but don't have any favorites. I'm currently reading The Brain That Changes Itself by Norman Doidge, which is a collection of case studies in brain research.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Is this the part to show off? :D
Teach, Learn, Share
Write me if you would like to do something together (I would be over the clouds if I could play table football with you and kick your ass) or would just like to sit outside and talk. I lived in three parts of Budapest so I can also show you places you would probably struggle to find on your own and help you out during your stay if needed.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Although I am not a professional, I could teach you either Hungarian, English or a bit of German. If you are up for a slightly heavy lunch or dinner I can cook you a traditional Hungarian dish too.
Countries I’ve Visited
Austria, China, Croatia, Czech Republic, England, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Greece, Italy, Liechtenstein, Poland, Scotland, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Vatican City State
