About Me
CURRENT MISSION
The Big City is too big for me. I escaped to the countryside to try living without being told how to. The countryside does not automatically yield freedom, but at least it is beautiful.
ABOUT ME
The more I live, the more I realize I have yet to learn. Moving to a farm a couple of hours outside Oslo to learn how to create my own life - i.e. how to produce the food I need to live - has only verified this observation. Everything is an ongoing project, and as a part of this, meeting open, sincere and authentic people is so valuable I can't find words to describe it. I like sharing, and I like being inspired.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Hosting and (very rarely) travelling.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've hosted a couple of surfers, though not through my own arrangements (meaning people I have lived with have hosted, which implies me too, by living there). Although I don't have the time or money to travel much, I loved these people because they made me feel I was.
Interests
I like life-hacking. DIY, ways to save, growing your own, raising chickens, creating useful and beautiful things. I also like good food and good drink, clean air, quiet, cleanliness, and compassion. And people. How we cooperate and support each other.

Music, Movies, and Books
Blue-grass. Banjo. Piano. Cello. Harmonious melodies. Great, broad, moving voices. Melodic electronica. Jazz, quiet and loud, impro and orchestra. That's what I like. I don't really watch movies, there never seems to be time for it. I like documentaries, though, even though I rarely watch them. I try to read more fiction (reading largely research literature), a project that for now leaves me with five started books, none yet finished.
Teach, Learn, Share
I want to learn how to be more confident. I want to learn more about managing yourself in the face of differences. I tend to be avoidant and serving, and I'd like to learn to be more assertive, though in the good way of course. In short, I want to learn more people-skills.
On a more specific level, I want to learn more about home-steading: how to grow vegetables, how to save, use and re-use resources, how to take care of and benefit from nature, and all kinds of other things that are related.
I can teach compassion. I can teach what I know about gardening and home-steading, though it's not a lot yet. I can cook, bake, and brew beer. I can knit, sew and repair clothing.
