About Me

Hi, friend I haven't met yet!

I'm Elise, and I'm from a little island called Singapore. I've always enjoyed adventure, travelling and exploring the unknown (a.k.a getting lost). I love comedy, and my sense of humour ranges from highbrow to fart jokes.

If I had to eat one food for the rest of my life, it would be pizza.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'll be going on my second trip to Europe this April-May, and I hope to meet some lovely hosts! I'm unable to host surfers in Singapore, but I would be more than happy to do meet-ups and show you guys around :)

Interests

I'm a very "night" kind of person, I like checking out bars and going to see performances. But I also like quiet activities like shopping , chilling in cafes, and reading.

Music, Movies, and Books

Quite random mix of loves:

Artists - K-pop (especially SNSD), Lykke Li, Lana Del Ray, Architecture in Helsinki, Modest Mouse and Grimes are my faves but I listen to a lot of other stuff in general!

Books - I read A LOT and I've loved everything by Donna Tartt, Neil Gaiman, and David Sedaris

Best movie of all time is the Jurassic Park series, and that's the end of it

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I love travelling with friends, but some of the best days in my travels have somehow been the ones where I'm all by myself!

In 2010 (? I think ?) I spent a full day traipsing around Tokyo in full Lolita dress.
In 2012, I took a train to Highgate Cemetary in the UK and joined a walking tour. I know it sounds kinda weird, but it was really peaceful and the cemetary is beautiful (it's famous, it's where Karl Marx is buried!). After that I took the train back to London and visited the London National Gallery for 20 minutes before it closed ;u;

What I Can Share with Hosts

Anything about Singaporean culture! Most people don't even know what or where we are, so I'm your chance to learn :D

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, United Kingdom
