About Me

Last year I quit my job, sold my stuff, said goodbye to my home in Portland, Oregon, and set off on a backpacking adventure to Oceania. In Australia I met Lara, a friendly and hilarious German gal, and we became fast friends, eventually traveling around together. We parted ways in April, but now she's come to explore the US with me! We're now on a grand tour of the west, hoping to see Seattle, Vancouver, and some of the breathtaking national parks in the southwestern US.

We are easygoing, friendly, and inquisitive people. We love meeting new people and learning about different cultures. We want to experience new places to the fullest and learn and grow as humans along the way!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've surfed a few times and have had great experiences all around. It can make traveling a lot more personal and special, and I hope to make some lasting connections during this trip. I appreciate the community spirit!

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Napoleon Dynamite, Grand Budapest Hotel.

I like the absurd and the surreal.

Music: pop, hip hop, r&b, folk/bluegrass in general, classic rock, 90s grunge... Everything!

Books: 1Q84, secret life of bees, anything by murakami, classic fiction.

Super into poetry right now!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Watched the sunrise over Machu Picchu. It was a brutal early morning hike to the top of the mountain, but the view from the top was worth it. Unlike anything I've seen before.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can offer some tutoring in English and French, teach you how to bake, and tell you a good story or two!

I would like to learn any languages you know, special local traditions, and any interesting perspectives you might have.

I'll never turn down a good story 😊
