People are the most interesting part of the world. When traveling, I want to experience a place like I live there and couch surfing seems like the best way to do that. It seems like an excellent way to build a community of friends & loved ones all over the world.

I recently picked up two hitchhikers in Chicago and it was a life-changing experience for me. On the ride, even though we talked about many things, one of the things that stayed with me was how, when you're out there, the only thing you have to rely on is yourself and the people around you; the people in this same traveling community as you. That conversation led me to this website and I'm looking forward to engaging in as many ways possible.

I grew up without a lot of money & in an area where people are mostly thinking about survival; how to pay their bills, how to feed themselves or their families, how to make it from one day to the next. Nobody even has dreams to follow.

For me, having a dream & believing in it enough to be persistent and stick with it is already an accomplishment. It's one of the things I'm most proud of & thankful for.
