(This about me is so old now I need to update I would say)..., I'm currently studying Spanish in Madrid until May and this is my first time really having any opportunity to travel extensively in this continent! :) I would travel no other way than meeting up in some way with local people wherever I am.
In 2014 I was a student and full time restaurant manager, and then in 2015 I quit my job and volunteer farmed for several months in TX and CO. I now live in Colorado and I am a full time student with a major in International Studies. I want to focus my career on supporting human rights! I aspire to travel as much as I can, to learn about new cultures and ideas and to always keep an open mind.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I absolutely love the connections I have made from surfing in the past and cherish the experiences I have had so far. I haven't had the opportunity to have a place to host surfers because of a few different reasons but I'm a huge fan of meet-ups and hoping I can host soon
Staying active and eating healthy :) I've been so distracted by social interactions and traveling these past couple of months that it's been a difficult one to keep up with. I definitely still do a lot of walking at least?? I practice yoga and last summer I've been hiking around the FC area at least 3 times a week. I value any recommendations for new artists to listen to or books to read. I am really open about the music I listen to, I love going to metal/hardcore shows but also listen to classical/classic rock/bluegrass, etc.
Music, Movies, and Books
Any live music I can dance my butt off to, honestly
Used to be big into horror movies, the worse the quality the better, evil dead, the thing, 28 days later, idle hands!, etc. I don't watch any movies or television currently...i listen to podcasts but just for learning spanish usually :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
volunteered for a refugee resettlement agency in Utah last spring. Once, I ziplined in Costa Rica:)
Teach, Learn, Share
actively learning about the world, where countries are, what their current situation is, in my studies I've been focused on human rights, specifically about the global refugee crisis. I am an officer for a student organization called Rams for Refugees, where we raise awareness for what being a refugee actually means, and where we also raised funds that went directly to the Za'atari Refugee Camp in Jordan this year. I could tell you a little about what I've learned so far!
