About Me
Hello! I am a senior in college working on a degree in Biology. I have a biological older brother, two younger sisters from Germany and a young brother from Japan that became part of the family when they exchanged to the US for a year and stayed with our family.
I am heavily involved in my church at school, and am more than happy to talk to you about my faith if you want, but I'd also love to hear about yours. At school I also work two jobs--in a bookstore and in the dining hall--and at home I work in the kitchen of a restaurant. One of my favorite things about these jobs is that they give me the opportunity to interact with people, sometimes from all over the world. I believe that, in general, people can make or break your job.
I also love traveling, reading, plants, cats, and postcards. I have a cat at home named Arthur who is the love of my life, and my parents have a cat named Lightbulb (LB for short). I wear Toms pretty much everywhere and have a firm belief that they are the best shoes ever.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Since I'm currently in college and share a house with roommates, I am, at this point, mainly on couch surfing to find places to stay while traveling. I learned about this program about 3 days ago (from the time of writing this) and think it's an incredible way to not only travel to new places but to meet new people in the process. One of the downsides to traveling has always been that it's harder to make friends in a new city where english isn't the native tongue.

Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite song is Drops of Jupiter, by Train, and I honestly love listening to Taylor Swift (It sounds dumb, I know). I've been listening to her music since I was little and it has gotten me through some pretty rough times in my life. I also really love The Gray Havens, Jenny and Tyler, and Flannel Graph, and highly recommend checking them out if you've never heard of them (Hit me up for song suggestions).
My favorite movie is The Wedding Date, followed by Sweet Home Alabama. I am all about romantic movies, but also love comedies, cartoons, and even the occasional action flick.
My favorite book is harder....I have a couple that I've been about a million times and others that I've only read once that have stuck with me for years. Three books that always come to mind when I am asked this question, though, are The Awaking by Kate Chopin, The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, and Emma by Jane Austen. I will read any book I can, and will read some multiple times. You will almost never see me without a book in my hand.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
On a trip to Ecuador I had a little boy come up and ask me to play soccer with him, and then more kids joined in as well as some of my friends, and honestly it was one of the best things I have ever done.
