About Me

CURRENT MISSION

choose life.

ABOUT ME

I've graduated university with a major in Women's Studies and a minor in Video Arts. I'm a feminist with an amazing sense of humor (heard it here first, folks). I love colors, ideas, poetry, good music, people, nature, water, dirt, French press coffee, Earl Grey tea, quotes, belts that don't match my shoes, mixed-media artwork, Arabic and French, trying new recipes, Oxford commas, and making up my own words.

PHILOSOPHY

ever since happiness heard your name, it has been running through the streets trying to find you. - Hafez

Music, Movies, and Books

movies: most things by women film directors (Sofia Coppola's movies are fantastic!!); indie films; foreign films (Y tu mamá también, XXY, The Devil's Backbone, Au revoir, les enfants are all DIVINE); film noir; old movies, especially: It Happened One Night, My Man Godfrey, Breakfast at Tiffany's, A Night at the Opera, How to Marry a Millionaire; Wes Anderson movies make the awkward version of myself so, so very happy.

music: anything and everything, anti-folk, light techno, bossa nova, rock, bluegrass, swing, '30s-'50s jazz, Americana, French pop, film scores.

books: I will read almost anything I can get my hands on but I'm also a book snob, if that makes any sense.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
