I am personally convicted that intentions matter, morals may be weighed and the outcomes are only part of the equation, though an important one. I am concerned with truth, and the pursuit of it.

As of this posting, I am brand new at couch surfing, but am looking forward to the opportunities it will afford me.

Interests

I am interested in how cultures grow and interact within themselves and how they merge in this connected world. So that means I take a keen interest in literature, world and domestic politics, new food and cooking, independent films, music trends and, most importantly, the art of teaching and the education of young people.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am deeply interested in movies and books that, in particular, strive to be more than just entertainment. I enjoy watching films that move me to think more deeply, or at least, differently, than I had before. I read books that teach, and encourage me to pursue knowledge about myself and about the workings of the world.

Teach, Learn, Share

If you come to DC, you will find an expert on the best coffee in town. I can explain to you the real DC, not just the area inhabited by the politicians, who have no real investment in a city vibrant with a distinct, and often, tragic past and with a lively culture. I can take you to where the tourists never even care to go.
If I am away from home, you can be sure I'll be enthusiastic to know the reality of where I am; the everyday toils and triumphs. My goals is to know a place, not just to see it.
