To see how far I can go
I'm Elle and I'm currently studying business and linguistics at university. I have a great love for foreign pick-up lines, quotes I wish I’d written myself, slam poetry, the smell of new air, train travel, and detours. I am passionate about social entrepreneurship and sustainable development, big words that really just mean being a decent human. I think I would describe this point in my life as "in progress," and I would like to draw it out as long as possible. I’m trying to start my sentences less often with “I” and it sometimes does not work so well. I think “where are you from?” is a much more complex question than most people care to think about. I am a traveler, a learner, a hiker, a self-proclaimed writer, a couchsurfer, and a questioner of things.
I believe in all sorts of juxtaposition.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm a full-time student, studying abroad for 2015-2016 in Berlin and accepting travellers for the first time! I've done a lot of surfing in the last few years and met great people in this community, so I am really looking forward to being able to host now and meeting people passing through or staying in Berlin!
Most think I'm crazy when I tell them I like to couchsurf, but I guess you just have to have a little faith. It's a two way street - opening your home up to a stranger and stepping into a stranger's home.
I like to hike and be in nature as much as possible, but I do occasionally have the tendencies of a homebody. I try to read and write as often as possible because I can't always be traveling.
Music, Movies, and Books
Indie music happens to be what I listen to most. Artists such Vanessa Carlton, Regina Spektor, Lana del Rey, Amber Rubarth, Birdy, The Dandy Warhols, and The Killers, reside in my playlist.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Teach, Learn, Share
I love people who are passionate about things - they're the best teachers. And people who create - they know how to live and have the most fun. I love to speak and share languages and also give pretty ratchet travel tips.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can bring a smile, an open mind, and stories for days. I also love to participate in language exchange and cook.
