ABOUT ME

I love to be spontaneous but am learning the value of developing routines. On a good day I am super enthusiastic about this beautiful world and on a bad day, I take my challenges head on and try to stay appreciative of the lessons they provide for me to grow.

I was born in 1981. One of my grandparents was an immigrant from England and the other three were all first generation Americans born to Jewish Russian immigrants. I have one sister who is three years younger than me. My parents are around 70 and have been happily married for over 30 years. The public schools I went to growing up were mostly white but had a large minority of international kids. My family went to a UU (Unitarian Universalist) church, which was also mostly white but not christian and they taught us to explore all religions. I considered becoming a UU minister but decided I was too much of an anarchist to fit in any religion, even UUism. Now I work as a tarot reader, attempting to turn a ten-year hobby into a career, and I am a hostess at the oh-so hip restaurant, Busboys and Poets.

Books by Noam Chomsky, Howard Zinn, Gary Zukov, Orson Scott Card. I love 60s music like Motown and Folk. I can get into pop from any era. I love movies. Some of my favorites are Star Wars, Bull Durham, Cocoon, Back to the Future, Gandhi, and Princess Mononoke.

When I was 16, I spoke in front of 3,000 people as the representative of the youth caucus at the Unitarian Universalist national gathering.

Favorite sights: buttes in Sedona, Arizona and the ocean floor near Cozumel, Mexico.

I am interested in learning history on-site. I want to learn more about nature too. Also on-site. :) Any kind of science facinates me. Actually I am curious about basically any kind of academic study. I would also like to learn to cook more.

I can teach astrology, tarot card reading, energy healing, dating advice, writing (prose and poetry), drawing, painting, how to easily make a website and how to use social networking (like facebook). I can explain news and politics.
