I want to learn always and never loose my intellectual curiosity.
I'm a Brazilian visual artist, living in the US for more than 20 years. I love to travel, love to try new foods and meet new people. I'm a bit of a health nut, I'm crazy about cinema, love NPR, am a fan of farmers markets, book shops and vintage stores. I tend to like creative, open minded, well travelled unpretentious people. One thing that might be important to know about me, is that despite being an artist, I'm very sophisticated and very neat and organized. I don't like clutter and have a pretty refined aesthetic sensibility. My apartment is very eclectic, organized, clean and full of interesting books. I have a tendency to collect ornate mirrors and kitchen gadgets, but try not to read too much into that. I love exotic balsamic vinegars, fruit pies, French cheese, foreign films, good wine and pretty much all things vintage...
Strive to be the best version of yourself, never settle for mediocrity, think creatively, and use your moral compass to act in a constructive and ethical manner. I believe we are all here to learn something important, regardless of our social-economic situation. I believe in a higher purpose for being.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
A friend of mine told me about couchsurfing and honestly, I had never heard of it, but thought it was such a fantastic idea! Since I travel around a lot and I can't always stay with friends, I thought, why not? Maybe I'll meet some really cool people and I can host as well, as I actually happen to have a sofa-bed in my living room. The experiences I've had so far hosting and couchsurfing have been wonderful. It's so much more then simply allowing people to stay at my place... it's opening up my home and my life to new friendships with travelers from around the globe, whom I would otherwise not have met, had it not been for Couchsurfing!
These are some of my favorite things: Art, film, photography, NPR, This American Life, The Colbert Report, Bikram Yoga, swimming, sunny days (really dislike winter), exotic spicy foods, traveling adventures (I can be spontaneous), intellectual conversations, good books, psychoanalysis, homeopathy, raw foods, holistic medicine in general, and I love being anywhere where there's water.

Music, Movies, and Books
So many movies!!!! Can't list them all here, but will tell you a couple of my favorite ones: Revolutionary Road, Maelstrom, American Beauty, Orlando, City of Lost Children, Doctor Strangelove, Everything is Illuminated, Notes on a Scandal, Carandiru, City of God, Little Otik, La Vie en Rose, Holy Smoke, Magnolia, The Lives of Others, The Beat that My Heart Skipped, All About my Mother,....
Teach, Learn, Share
I can tell you a lot about art and I'm always looking for collaborators for my photo shoots. If you are interested in holistic medicine and the healing power of whole foods, I can spend days talking to you about that. I can spend a lifetime talking to you about movies.
I am only now learning to use photoshop so would LOVE some help with that. So computer geeks are always welcome!!! I can learn a lot from other artists, photographers, actors, directors and other creative types. But if you are none of that, but has travelled all over the world, I'd love to hear all about your experiences.
