About Me

Hi there!

Besides going to university, I work. I'm basically a workaholic. 🙈 But there is this one quote I love. Do what you love for living and you won't work a single day. That's what I do: I am realizing my passions.

Thus I'm quite busy. Mostly I'm come home late and leave early. Unfortunately that means I have less time for hosting. But send me a request and we will see! :) Also, I love tea - so if you want to get me a gift, than I prefer tea from your home country! ;-)

🐝 Fun-fact: At the beginning of my career I was among other film characters literally acting as Maja the bee.

Oh, I am kind of vegan. Which means, I don't eat meat, dairy products (except some times cheese and chocolate), eggs and so on. But I do eat fish (I am addicted to sushi!).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To crash one's couch is a thing everyone should try! Or sleeping on the floor. Or in a tent in the garden. Or in the car next to a cemetery.

And yes, last one also happend because of Couchsurfing. Was totally scary. Okay, almost happened. You wanna hear the whole story? Ask me! :D

Interests

I'm a fan of Frida Kahlo's art and the story behind the drawings and of Frida herself . Also, I'm interested in the story of Anne Frank and once I helped managing an exhibition about her.

And I love talking to people and hear their life story. That's one of the reasons I am on Couchsurfing. It's not just having a place to sleep - I want that people have unforgettable journeys! - I met so great people on Couchsurfing and with some of them I am still connected :) best journeys I had wasn't because of the places but of the people I met.

The city I love the most is Cape Town! Such a great place and I truely wanted to stay there foreeeeever .. my goal is to move there in a few years.

Music, Movies, and Books

I always have a book in my pocket. Prefering realistic novels and I am totally interested in true stories. One of my absolute favorite authors is Alina Bronsky (she's german/russian). But also Stephen King, Haruki Murakami and Bill Bryson.

Listening to rock music and stuff from the 90ies and early 2000s like KISS, Avril Lavigne, Fall out Boy, Panic at the disco, ...

Oh - and I love to dance (since the age of 12 I dance regularly in sport courses. Mostly Zumba and Modern Dance) -

My all-time-fav' song is "Walking on sunshine" 🌞

Movies ... I am really into horror movies. There is a hotel in Bulgaria offering a horror-weekend. Definitely wanna go there once! But also watching super dramatically TV shows like Grey's Anatomy (never missed a new episode over the past 15 years). Same applies here: Love 90ties and early 00ties! I am kinda like mainstream here :D.
Plus I am Disney addicted. Favorite ones are probably Cinderella and the little mermaid.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Try to do at least one amazing thing from my Bucket list every year!

🌋 2015 - Spontaneously, I packed my stuff and explored a foreign overseas country (Indonesia) for one month with a stranger, who is now one of my best friends.

💇‍♀️ 2016 - Donated 30 cm length of my hair for a wig for a child with cancer.

🚐 still 2016 - Roadtrip trough East Australia and New Zealand

🐘 2017 - Africa Safari Trip! Slept in a tent right next to elephants under thousands of stars and figured out where I wanna live when I am grown up

🗽Still 2017 - first travels by my own trough Malaysia, Singapore and New York City

🤓 2018 - My nerdy year: Trip to Disney Land and Harry Potter Land. Also celebrated St. Paddy Day in Dublin/Ireland

🎄 2018/2019 - Celebrating xmas and new year's eve in Tahiti with one of my best friends

🏔️ 2019 - visiting one of my friends in Iceland for a road trip
