About Me

CURRENT MISSION

still figuring that one out...

ABOUT ME

I'm from New Zealand, Nic's from England. We met here a couple of years ago and now live together in a lovely wee house with a huge back garden that we grow organic veges in.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm a pretty chilled-out chica, Nic's a pretty chilled-out fella.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had a few people stay with me when I lived in London and had the favours returned by others in Eastern Europe. Every experience blew me away and I feel I learned something from each of the people I met along the way. Such a lovely way to bring people of different cultures together and do your bit for international relations!!

Interests

I love to travel! Have done big trips through India, Asia and South America (4-5months each)as well as smaller journeys all around Europe when I used to live in London. I'm interested in different cultures - discovering the similarities and differences of the people and the different ways they live their lives all over the world.

I also love cake - have recently discovered a hidden talent there and it keeps me amused for hours (both making them and eating them!) I challenge anyone to a cake-off! And on the subject of challenges - nobody's ever beaten me at the Chilli Challenge yet - how much chilli can you handle?

Nic is a mad climber (and he's always looking for climbing partners!), loves the outdoors and is always keen for a mission somewhere. We go away into the mountains a lot to go tramping or mountain biking.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent time teaching English to young Buddhist monks and nuns in a remote monastery & nunnery in the Himalayas in Northern India. I've done it twice now (for 6 weeks and 3 weeks). It's truly amazing to live with the nuns and learn from them - it really changed how I live my life!

Teach, Learn, Share

We love to learn new gardening secrets and if you can amaze us with your cooking skills from around the world, well that would be amazing!
