I'm getting to explore the world for the first time, and I am excited to visit new places and learn about the places I visit from locals! I have a degree from Ohio State University in Molecular Genetics and I am studying biology at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich. I worked as an au pair near Hamburg for a year.

Ich mache seit Oktober 2016 ein Master Programm für Biologie bei der LMU in München. Vorher arbeitete ich als Au Pair in der Nähe von Hamburg. Ich bin schon relativ viel innerhalb Deutschland und Europe gereist und freue mich auf weitere Abenteuer. :)

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

Cheap travel is great, and I would love to see cities from the perspective of somebody who has lived there for a long time. I have used Couchsurfing in the past primarily to meet up with people when I travel alone.

Interessen

The outdoors - cycling, hiking, camping, etc. I love trying new things, especially food. I am eager to learn. I pick up languages quickly and have gotten pretty good at exploring new places by myself.

Musik, Filme und Bücher

I can listen to any music if it's live, but I love classic rock (The Who, Tom Petty, Queen) and alternative music (Vampire Weekend, Grouplove). I also listen to rap (Chance the Rapper, Drake, Kanye West) sometimes.
I don't watch movies all that often, but my favorite TV show is Breaking Bad.
Currently reading: White Teeth by Zadie Smith. I read almost everything happily! I'm not a big fan of fantasy or science fiction.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

I once biked 500 miles along the shores of Lake Michigan in the USA to raise money for a cause close to my heart, Recovery On Water (ROW), which helps teach women with breast cancer how to row.

I'm a decent cook and a better baker. I'm clean and respectful, eager to learn, and eager to share what I have learned growing up as an American and traveling through Europe. Also, I love card games and good beer.
