I’m Elliott, 32, originally from Kent but Bristol has been home for the past six years. Travel has been a huge part of my life. What started as a trip turned into five years of moving around the world — staying everywhere from hostels and beach huts to random spare rooms and campsites across Asia, Australia, South America, and Europe. Somewhere along the way I ended up helping set up campsites across parts of Europe, which was a great excuse to meet people and stay a while.

When I’m not working, I’m usually outside somewhere — hiking, exploring new spots, or chasing good views with a camera. I also make music and enjoy photography, both of which have followed me through a lot of my travels.

These days I work as a solar electrical engineer, which feels like a good way to stay grounded while contributing to something positive. But the travel mindset never really leaves — I still love discovering new places, sharing stories, and learning from the people I meet along the way.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing feels like a natural extension of how I’ve always travelled. For me the best part of travel has always been the people you meet, the conversations you have, and the little local experiences

I’m endlessly curious about places and people. I could happily spend hours talking about travel stories, food from different cultures, music scenes, and the little things that make a place unique. Meeting people from different backgrounds is one of the things I enjoy most about travelling and life in general.
