Overview
About Me
Hello! My name is Elliott, and I’m a teacher, musician, and organizer back on Couchsurfing for the first time since I was traveling five years ago.
The radical generosity and openness that I experienced as both a couchsurfer and hitchhiker in 2018 has had a transformative effect me as a person and fueled the optimism I so greatly needed to blossom into an activist and educator. I hope that in rejoining the Couchsurfing community, I can continue to share that spirit and be a part of shaping the kind of world that I’d like to grow old in.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I like meeting people who like meeting people. I think it's awesome that couchsurfers are willing to share their home in exchange for some international company and hope to return the favor once I settle down and get a place of my own.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Anything colorful and creative. I listen a lot of different styles but my happy place is progressive rock, jazz fusion, and neosoul. I'm always into hearing about new bands and won't hesitate to share a library of them in return.
TV: Avatar the Last Airbender is the most beautiful show I’ve ever seen, hands down.
Books: Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer, Assata by Assata Shakur, and All About Love by bell hooks are some of my favorites as of late!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Improvised an entire musical with less than three full rehearsals.
Sang "Santa Baby" in a naughty Mrs. Clause dress.
Hitchhiked from Poland to Belgium, then in and out of Hell (no bullshit!!!), and then up into the Arctic Circle
Teach, Learn, Share
I know a lot about drums and playing music in general, and I'm always happy to share knowledge and humbly absorb it from those who know something I don't.
If you need to learn English, I can help you with both conversation and grammar (and maybe even some Spanish grammar - I'm no native speaker but I studied the language for many years in school). I'm also always grateful to learn a few phrases in other languages, whether they be useful or just funny.
I'm not a fantastic cook, but I know a fair amount about tacos and Tex-Mex. Any kitchen tips or new dishes are always appreciated.
