ABOUT ME
I'm a 25 year old treeplanting, skateboarding thrifter/scavenger currently living in Vancouver and about to embark on a (largely solo) car trip down the west coast of the states. I've got a few friends and family along the way, but also am looking to meet new people and check out new cities and places.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies:
Pretty much all Wes Anderson and Cohen Brothers, plus I know every line from Clueless. Also I think it's safe to say that The Matrix and FIght Club formed my life philosophy at least as much as my parents did.
Music:
In high school it was all about Hip Hop; Wu-Tang, MF DOOM, Pete Rock and CL Smooth, Tribe, Big L. Since then I've expanded a lot. I like Chad Van Gaelen, Robyn, Elliott Smith, Austra, The Smiths, Against Me, The Knife, Drake, Animal Collective, Portishead and so on..
Books:
Truthfully I don't read as much I'd like to, but I generally like popular non-fiction like Malcolm Gladwell, Michael Pollen, Oliver Sacks, Bill Bryson. I think the last book I finished was "The Kid" by Dan Savage. Which was awesome.
TV:
Seinfeld, Seasons 1-10 of the Simspons, Seasons 1-3 of the Office (American), Arrested Development, Mythbusters, How It's Made, Daily Show, Colbert Report
Podcasts:
This American Life, Radiolab, Wiretap, Stuff You Should Know, The Moth, 99% Invisible
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Whales. On a ferry to VIctoria, BC by myself when a voice came over the PA announcing nearby whales, I was all cool as a cucumber about it, but had never seen whales in wild before. I'd figured I'd see what all the fuss is about and then was instantly floored by the rush off energy I felt when I saw four or five pairs of orcas, each pair swimming in a perfect alternating pattern of surfacing and diving with each other. I was buzzing like I just met my hero and saw the birth of a prophet, and they were barely visible. Fucking whales, man! They'll get you every time.
