Hi there fellow couchsurfers.
My name is Ellis Kelly. I am 18 years of age and I am new to couchsurfing (so probably inexperienced but hopefully my probably dreadful bio won't drive away too many of you generous hosts)
I grew up in a small town in Scotland called Troon, all those who like to golf may have heard of it, those who haven't; golf sucks anyway.
I now currently reside in the fabulous town of Truro in Nova Scotia, all those who like fun probably haven't heard of it either.

I am on Couchsurfing for several reasons.
Reason number 1. Like many of you, I love to travel.
I was born in Scotland then moved to Canada a few years ago and I can honestly say I have never had a more exciting, scary but also extremely beneficial experience in my life. Moving has taught me that not only do the houses, trees, lakes and hills change from place to place but the people and their mindsets do as well. It made me realize that it is important to meet those who think differently to you, who can broaden your aspects in life and introduce new cultures and ideas that simply don't exist back home.
I hope to travel as much as I can and meet many of these beautiful people.
Reason number 2. I am young and therefor I do not have a lot of money.
Many people use money as an excuse not to go places but it doesn't have to be. That's all.
Reason number 3. I like adventure. Situations that may place you outside of your comfort zone are often the most educational.
Lastly, I love to meet new people and make new friends. I can't even begin to image the variety of people who have signed up to this website, and if you're as kind and generous enough to offer up your home to a stranger then you can only be someone i'd love to meet.

My passions and interests, you could say, aren't really limited.
Anyone could talk about anything from politics to science to geography and I would be engrossed entirely. Id say my passion is learning, and learning as much as possible. We all know knowledge is power :)

My favourite music includes a wide variety of genres but my favourite would have to be rap, closely followed by electronic, alt, indie, rock and maybe some reggae.
My favourite movies would have to be goodfellas, inception, the beach.
My favourite books include the glass castle, memoirs of a geisha and sherlock holmes.

I joined a film group in the UK working with some people from the BBC on short films several of which one some awards.
I want to go into film and script-writing when i'm older so I have been trying to get as much experience as I can!

I can share my awesome music taste with you and my extensive knowledge on weird facts that aren't going to be useful to you ever.
I can also cook you some food, only if you like haggis though because that's all us scots know how to cook.
I can paint you a picture upon request, if you have art supplies, because I love being creative and who doesn't need more colour on their walls, right?
I can tidy up your house. I'm actually a neat freak and get a weird satisfaction out of doing dishes. Don't ask.
