About Me

Hey there! I am 24 years old and currently study Philosophy & Economics in Bayreuth, Germany. I am a sociable and communicative person who likes to meet new people and hang out with them - but I totally respect if anyone needs their own space or time for themselves and I can very well entertain myself. I love traveling a lot (okay that's not very suprising for someone on Couchsurfing) and to explore new places, but I also like reading, sports (football mostly), and having chats over coffee, beer or wine (doesn't always have to be deep philosophical topics, don't worry).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I used couchsurfing for the first time when I moved out from home and wanted to see apartments in Bayreuth and to meet locals to show me around. Since I have always been visiting friends in other cities and participated a lot in school exchanges (such as with Russia or Hungary), I love this kind of traveling because it feels more genuine and real than just going to a hotel and paying for a guided tour. It also gives you more opportunity to give something back because it's both interesting to host and guest!

Interests

Travel, sports (football: Schalke 04!), reading, anything that is social and includes other people, culture, theater ... I think I am relatively good at finding something interesting about many activities and hence I am relatively easy to please while traveling, I think. I strangely discovered a passion for underground railways/metros, and whenever I am in a new city, I would love to use it at least once to some random, maybe remote station, because it shows you very well how the locals live and it gets you quickly far to non-touristy spots. And you can just sit and relax while watching people coming and going ... It might be annoying for long-everyday commuting, but at least on holidays, I love it!

Music, Movies, and Books

Let's keep this for some (red) wine, beer or coffee discussion ;-)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Mhhh I don't know. I love a lot of episodes of my life for me personally, but I feel like in comparison to other people's experiences here, I haven't done anything amazing haha. We have a German-Russian youth organization (www.drjug.org) with which we organize multiple youth forums per year in Russia, Germany, but also in Poland and Ukraine. I have had the honor to help in organizing these forums and to also take part, and I honestly everytime think that it has just been amazing: all the new, very cool people I met, all the serious or funny discussions we had, and all the new friendships that came from that.... If you like, you can find some pics on the website :-)

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to improve my Armenian (I worked in the German embassy in Armenia as an intern last summer) and to learn more about other backgrounds, perspectives, and cultures. I can gladly assist with sharing some of my language knowledge, or with any other skills that I have. But I don't know how impressive they are haha.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Humor and fun and a good, cool time - I hope! I like interesting conversations, and I am totally down to making myself useful somehow. So if something doesn't require a year-long education, but rather my hands, some effort and diligence: I think I could be helpful in that! :-)
