🌍 Welcome to our profile!

Hi there! We’re Dodie and Michele, a French-Italian couple exploring the world one country at a time.
Dodie is from Grenoble 🇫🇷, Michele is from Venice 🇮🇹.

Since January 2025, we’ve been traveling full-time with just two backpacks.
So far, we've crossed South America, India, Sri Lanka and we're currently discovering the vibrant cultures of Southeast Asia. The places have been beautiful, but it's the people we've met who’ve truly shaped our journey.

👫 Who are we?

Before traveling, we were engineer. Today, we live on the road. And tomorrow? When we return (we don't know when yet), we plan to settle down somewhere and host travelers via Couchsurfing. It's our way of giving back everything we've received during our adventure.

We love discovering countries in an authentic way:
• tasting the local food 🍲
• riding local transport 🚐
• living at the rhythm of the locals' daily lives 🧺
• sharing stories with strangers who become friends 💬

➡️ Why don't we always write a personalized message or read each profile in full?
Simply because there are a lot of inactive users. Before reading the entire profile, we prefer to send a quick message to check if you're responsive. If you are, then we read your profile a little more carefully. This isn't out of disrespect—we hope you'll understand. ❤️

✅ A few important details
• Your rules will be respected. Cleanliness, respect for the premises, pets, no outside guests, keeping you informed, etc. We're in your home, so we adapt to you and your rules.
• We're here to connect. We like conversations, even brief ones. If we already know everything about you in advance, it's a shame. We prefer the surprise of the meeting. There's less point in asking you "your job" or "what you like" if we already know the answer!
• Your age, gender, lifestyle, orientation, financial situation... it doesn't matter! As long as there's mutual respect, everything's fine; we'll get to know each other.
• Comfort? Sleeping in a big, comfortable bed is great. But a couch, mattress on the floor, or a sleeping bag or something else: anything goes. We're here to experience a human experience for a few days, not for the hotel.
• Address in advance. We understand that some prefer to share it at the last minute, but if you can send it to us at least 1 or 2 days before, it's really reassuring. Otherwise, we might have to look for a last-minute plan B, which is sometimes difficult.
• Communication = the most important thing. Let us know if you need some quiet, if something's bothering you, or if you'd like to talk. We're always available.

Por que estou no Couchsurfing?

I decided to use Couchsurfing because I believe the best way to discover a country is by living with locals. I love the idea of immersing myself in the culture of a place by exchanging stories, sharing meals, or even going on adventures with those who know the region best. It's also a great opportunity to meet people from all walks of life and build authentic connections.

- Through my work, I had the unique opportunity to visit a nuclear reactor and a synchrotron.
- I spent six months living in Ireland, where I worked and improved my English.
- I’m currently on a world tour, which I started in January 2025.

I’m looking for a friendly, open-minded host who’s willing to share local experiences with me. Since I’m new to Couchsurfing, I’m a little nervous, but also very excited to see where this journey takes me!
