CURRENT MISSION

I am in law school, preparing for the day I graduate so I can take a celebratory bicycle tour. I've lived in the Pacific Northwest since 2005, more specifically in Oregon, but I travel as often as I can. August 2019, I will be in Philadelphia for the Lavender Law conference. I used to host with more regularity, but now I host on a very limited basis, as I am swamped with work from school.

ABOUT ME

Things I do on a regular basis: Cycle, read, go to the beach, go to the hot-springs, go hiking, check out live music and dance parties. Hit up some local pubs for pool, air hockey, darts etc, play instruments and listen to music, watch movies.

A strong passion in my life besides language is travel; more recently via bicycle. I have now completed three bicycle journeys which covered 27 of the 50 United States and total 7500 miles. Previously I lived in China for 2 years, Mexico for a 15 months, Ecuador for 5 months, 4 months in Peru, 5 weeks in Argentina and 1 day in Uruguay. I’ve been to Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia, Indonesia, England and Denmark all totaling about 3 months. Most recently, my partner and I lived in Norway while they earned their Masters degree. Now we live in Portland, OR.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I surf and host. I enjoy the reciprocal, give and take culture that Couchsurfing facilitates on its platform. When people request my couch, I look to their reference to see if they are givers, takers, or a little bit of both. I want to host people who understand how to use this platform the way it’s intended to be used.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

CouchSurfing keeps me remembering that there is an amazing network of people who want to help others out and be friendly. It’s incredible what a good feeling it is to meet people who are good at heart in every city I stop in. This way I get to see the real culture rather than being secluded in a hotel being pampered.

I watch a lot of documentaries but have an outstanding memory for lines in movies even if I only saw it once 15 years ago. Wish I had the same kind of memory for the facts I hear in a documentary.

I have seen las cataratas de Iquazu in Argentina(one of the most Beautiful natural sites in the world), The Aztec city in Mexico, Machu Pichu in Peru and the Great Wall in China. I cant wait to see the pyramids in Egypt.
