ABOUT ME

I have been nomadic in body and spirit over the past couple years. Like other couch surfers, I love meeting people, talking to people, walking with people; being around happy and intuitive human beings is the aliveness in my life. I enjoy most activities, but am partial to the extremes; intense athletics and excessive leisure. I am an open minded person who likes to ask questions, none too personal, but I love to probe and poke and take adventures in conversation. I love loud music and being a dance machine, but I also enjoy soft jams and lazin' on the front porch. I buy an instrument and play it for a little bit, then buy another one and repeat (never really getting good at any of them). I read books. I laugh a lot. Fart noises are still funny to me. I love breakfast. Music feeds my emotions on the daily. Silence is ok with me. Oregon is my home. The city of San Francisco inspires me. I probably will like you. I like most everybody. I love late nights, early mornings, western sunsets, peanut butter and a nice cocktail. I am a Gemini. I have four sisters and no brother(s), but I love them anyway.

PHILOSOPHY

I would like to think that the purpose of life is to make yourself as happy as possible in your present moment, always, and with that, contributing to the happiness of those around you. I believe that regret is an impossibility because I am of the thought that humans are in control of their lives, and with such control, make decisions based off of what they believe is the most "right" at any given time....how can you regret if you at all believe in yourself? Even if the decision is horrible, and the outcome evil, it couldn't have happened any other way, and you always have the chance of making the "wrong" decision right or finding beauty in the fact that the "wrong" decisions give you contrast to highlight what is "right." So, it's all good. Anywhoosle, I believe in people, and want to help whoever I can in whatever way for the rest of my life. I believe in the generations to come, and I'm kind of hoping for a revolution of sorts before I die.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I want to be open to all who travel through Oregon. To show them the true beauty of this state, especially in the cities of Bend, Eugene and Portland. Any travelers are welcome to contact me and ask for some info on Oregon via a coffee/drink date or a simple email. I figure the more open and welcoming I am to people, the more I will receive warm welcomes from others when I travel.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I attempted in Europe, in France, Italy and Germany, but to no avail. Either no one answered my message, or it was just bad timing. Bad luck I guess, but I am still very willing to let whomever hang out on my couch for a day or two. I have had several people stay at my old pad in NE Portland, all wonderful experiences. I hope to have several more at this spot on the mountain.

Intereses

So, I like a lot of things. Long adventurous walks through places I know too well, or not at all. I will always enjoy an Old Fashioned in a dim lit room with my good friends. I thrive off of activity (be it sport, concerts, a class, crafting, drinking in public or playing with a light up bouncy ball in the streets of Portland at night). I love ideas. I love dreams. I love stories. I love road trips. I love playing piano, harmonica and the accordion. I love cooking. And, obviously, I love to be a host.

I traveled to Northern Ireland in November of 2008 to hike the Mourne Mountains. I would suggest a googling of these mountains to at least catch an image of their majestic beauty, but the best way of describing my experience in words is, mythic and dramatic. It is very cool when an environment moves you to feel certain emotions, especially when said environment is still. That I could laugh out loud from the depths of my belly without being told a joke or without seeing a happy romance concluded, is amazing. I love the Mourne Mtns...and had my credit card not stopped working, I would have hiked the lot of them.
