About Me

ABOUT ME

Interested in art, music, food and flea markets. Looking forward to spending my time visiting galleries and exploring. I am a very considerate house guest (here in Melbourne I occasionally house/animal sit and have glowing references!) - and I see couchsurfing as a wonderful opportunity to meet fabulous like-minded people and potentially make new friends. There is no doubt that I will return your hospitality with gratitude, whether it be taking you out for dinner, whatever is appropriate! When I'm at home I work as a secretary part time to support my passion, I am an artist working in a variety of media.

PHILOSOPHY

learn. (will add to this)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

at this stage I'm available to show people around, possible weekend trips and coffee/wine about town.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm a fan. After 2 very positive experiences in Europe, I have also enjoyed meeting people here in Melbourne. A most wonderful concept.

Music, Movies, and Books

Best books I've read lately:
Tove Jansson, anything!
Barbara Trapido, Brother of the more famous jack
Per Petterson, Out stealing horses
Solo, Rana Dasgupta

Music:
Really varied taste in music… Can be gypsy, classical, then there's fleet foxes and the knife, matthew herbert big band, feist, jose gonzales, tom waits. the list goes on…

And then there's movies: thats a long and varied list too. Werner Hertzog, Almondovar, Wong Kar Wai. Melbourne has a great international film festival and I try to got to see lots of different types of film.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Trekking to a high altitude in Schezuan province to see a Tibetan horse racing festival. Actually the whole Schezuan trip was amazing to be truthful.

Teach, Learn, Share

One of the reasons for this current trip is to research some artwork that I've been working on. It would be wonderful for my host to be open to helping me with their local knowledge to find locations for my photographs.
As I mentioned in the 'about me' bit, I'm learning Zen Shiatsu and would be happy to practice on my treasured hosts (although I'm only learning, there are benefits to be had at my current level of skill!).

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, China, France, Italy, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Thailand, United Kingdom, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In

Australia
