I’m Elvira Schlegel, a first-time couchsurfer from Germany, living in a small city with my family.

A bit about me: I’m 19, finished high school, and spent 14 months volunteering in Costa Rica, working with kids. I was born in Russia, so I speak three languages fluently—and my Spanish is improving every day (let’s chat en español!).

I have tons of hobbies! Lately, I’ve been into reading, chess, salsa & bachata dancing 💃, playing ukulele, and watching good movies.

I’ve been vegetarian since birth and naturally stopped eating dairy over time (I just don’t like it haha). Plus, my mom cooks vegan, so it all fits perfectly.

I’d describe myself as open-minded and kind-hearted (as long as I get enough sleep and food). Currently, I’m on a journey of self-improvement—journaling and building good habits.

I discovered Couchsurfing while traveling with my brother in México in December 2023. Huge shoutout to Aalan & Eri for being my first amazing hosts! I fell in love with the concept and knew I had to join.

Now, as I dive into this new adventure, I’m excited to connect with like-minded people, share stories, and create unforgettable memories. Whether you’re new or experienced in Couchsurfing, let’s make each interaction a celebration of diversity and friendship!
