Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

New to this--but I have been meeting new people and living new experiences most of my life.

Interests

I am interested in lots of things and have quit my regular job a few years ago to spend more time doing what I want to do. (OK--I'm "retired".) I like to fuse and torch glass, do volkswalks, travel inexpensively. Started taking yoga, tai chi & line dance classes. I learned to knit (easy things--my goal was dish cloths but I have moved on.) I'd like to paint. I like diversity, meeting new people, eating ethnic and healthy food.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

MANY years ago before Cancun was a well-known resort, I visited the Yucatan peninsula with a friend and rode in a local bus with chickens among the passengers. My friend had done more of the travel prep and said that we would pass jungles as we headed to the pyramids. I asked if there would be elephants and she said no. We dozed on the ride and I awoke to see elephants to the side of the road. (turns out there was a traveling circus out near the jungle.) The pyramids were also really amazing. It was easy to climb up but daunting to descend.
