Hi! I graduated from high school in the US, studied at a university in Florence, Italy for 2 years, and now I'm continuing my studies in photography at an art school in Amsterdam.

I grew up in 30 minutes outside Seattle, Washington. This area was close to both the city and outdoors, so I camped and often hiked, going to the city more as I grew up. I absolutely love the outdoors and spending time in nature, as much as I also love the art and culture and energy that cities can bring. I'm invigorated by the unfamiliarity of new places, the surprises contrasts they offer to my own uprbringing!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I hope by using CS that I can connect with new friends, while also meeting people who've grown up in a different environment than my own. I love talking to anyone, whether our interests align or not.

I'll be traveling and photographing around Japan for the month of March! Will by joined by my younger sister for the first half, but also going solo part of the time while she heads to the mountains. With my camera in hand, I'm very excited to explore topics around the concept of ma (間), the symbiotic relationship between people and nature, and disappearing cities due to population decline.
