About Me

I am a Danish student in Scotland studying textile design at Glasgow School of Art. My road to Glasgow has been long and took me around the world (literally) and I've learnt so much. I feel most comfortable when casually walking around a city or landscape exploring at my own pace. I love finding unexpected places and take a break under a tree, on a bench or in a cafe, meeting local people and hear about their lives. I have travelled a lot on my own, but also with other people and feel I learn the most when sharing stories with others and hear their take on my travels. I always look to be introspective and challenge the things I learn along the way. I am sure there are many more great adventures to come!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I believe the world is becoming a smaller, kinder place by sharing stories from across the world. Experiencing how other people live first hand and hearing about their lives and travels are the highlights of travelling for me. I am on couch surfing because I want to hear more stories and because I want to facilitate the sharing between others. By being a part of a community like this, by showing support, it makes other people want to join and become a part too.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing I did was walking Camino de Santiago by myself at age 19 in May/June 2016. I had been advised to go by a woman in a place I volunteered and after returning from a long, eventful journey around the world on Semester at Sea, I needed some time to process my experiences. So after coming home I booked my ticket to France 2 weeks before starting the Camino and booked no return ticket to allow me to take my time. Walking alone and walking long distances changed how I view myself and people around me and humbled me in relation to nature and my own abilities. It gave me lots of time for introspective and gave me so much more than I ever imagined was even possible. So do go at some point!
