About Me

I love to eat! In fact, when I say I love to travel, I actually mean I love to eat food in different places. Haha. Although I admit that ever since going vegan it's a tad bit harder to try everything in sight...

I like to take chances a lot and be in situations that push my boundaries.
I couchsurf, hitchhike and farm my way around the world.
Libraries make me super duper happy.

I love drawing about my travels: heymiyuki.wordpress.com
and making other forms of art:

Just completed a project around the world, meeting queer artists and activists, collaborating, making zines (queerscribe.com) and doing performances.

As a surfer: I'm respectful of your space & humbled by your willingness to welcome me into your home. I don't smoke, drink occasionally and love cats. I'll happily exchange work, chores, or skills for accommodation too :)

To be open-minded and never judge a book by its cover.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I caught the traveling bug a few summers ago when I went to China for a month with my buddy and my trusty backpack. I love making friends with new people and understanding a countries' culture by chilling with locals. Most days on the road, I'd rather have some peanuts with locals and cook up a dinner with my CS host than go to a tourist-infested attraction. I've surfed and taken part in lots of CS community activities abroad. I can't wait to have a place where I can host people!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Made my own stringed instrument out of wood at the top of a mountain in Gunma, Japan while drinking goat's milk when I spent a year there.

Scuba diving in Sipadan, Malaysia! Turtles, sharks, manta rays ahhhhhh! So beautiful...best Christmas/birthday ever!

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm an artist and I love making pieces of artwork with people I just met and with my dear friends.

I can teach you how to sew and be more self-sufficient :) I'm also fluent in English, Japanese and Chinese and semi-fluent in Spanish.

I also am known to make soymilk for my hosts <3
All you need to provide me with is a blender and a pot!

I'm interested in learning whatever you'd like to teach me! I recently learned how to vogue which was pretty cool.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My knowledge of languages and music, vegan cooking skills, handmade art :)
