I am an inspiring social psychologist who aims to do PhD study in the near future. I am a lifelong learner; I learn by visiting websites such as Coursera, edX, TED, CrashCourse. My hero is the great Nelson Mandela. I want to inspire others.

Stayed on a couch in Cape Town, Liverpool, Milan.
Hosted friends a couple of times.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I was offered volunteer stint for 2010 World Cup in Cape Town but couldn't find accommodation since most hostels were fully booked. A friend suggested couch surfing & I asked a few Capetonians. One particular person replied my message but couldn't host me because he had agreed to host another volunteer. He asked his friend who later agreed. It was the best 3 weeks of my life. My host later became my brother; he visited Malaysia in 2011.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Volunteer for 2010 FIFA World Cup in Cape Town, South Africa! A lot of people were concerned for me for staying with a stranger but I'm glad I took the risk because my trip was simply amazing. Volunteer for 2007 FINA World Swimming Championships in Melbourne, Australia. I managed to meet athletes from many countries. Best moment: personally congratulating for Roland Schoeman after his win. He was a gentleman!

I worked with an organisation that deals with intercultural programmes.I met with participants from all over the world. I learned about their culture and they learned about mine. A good example is conflict styles. A westerner confronts when a problem arises while a Malaysian tends to be 'around-the-bush' when faced with a problem. We are just non-confrontational people. The most important thing about different cultures is that a person must respect other cultures even though you may not agree with their cultural practice. I have travelled to South East Asia, Australia, Europe and South Africa. I learn a lot from my travels.
