ABOUT ME

I want to experience life to the fullest which I think requires you to see all the things you can and meet at the people you can. It also means being open to a full range of emotion which I try my hardest to do. Without the lows, you can't experience the true highs. I love having meaningful conversations about social issues, and life in general. I also love to go out and have a great time, whatever that may mean, hopefully dancing until the sun comes up. I love nature and feel my fullest self when immersed in it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I couch surfed a couple times when I was backpacking in Europe and it was the best decision I made while there. They made my experience so amazing and unforgettable and I want to host someone else one day once I'm settled somewhere to give back the kindness I received.

Interests

I spend most of my time with family and friends. I love hiking, biking, and live music. I also love to read and write poetry. I'm also a social worker in the medical field, working with people to navigate the US' complex healthcare system and in managing their own chronic conditions. I think all people are inherently good and must be treated with dignity and respect.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love Neil Young, Laura Marling, Vance Joy, and Nirvana. I sincerely love any kind of music. I love all books by Barbara Kingsolver, I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings, The Alchemist, Brene Brown, and 12 Years a Slave. For movies, I love more independent films as well as thrillers.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I paraglided in the Swiss Alps...and threw up in the air right over the landing area.
I lived in a friary with 15 friars for 2 months during a time in my life when I didn't have a place to stay.
I kayaked in the archipelagos off Sweden and camped on a deserted island. Walked around naked the whole time :)
