Hi, my name is Emiko. I'm originally from Japan, lived in Australia for the last 8 years.
Since April 2019 I started travelling in South America.
Back in Melbourne I have been working as a chef. My specialty is Italian food but really I love all the different cuisines and the food is a big part of my trip as for many of us ! （My boyfriend says I'm always talking about food and I talk about food while I'm eating.）
Apart from cooking I also love writing, drawing and reading. While traveling I spend half of my time for those.
I'm a slow traveler, loving sharing time with people and listening their stories, that's how I educate myself.
Currently I am learning Spanish and the guitar, both are something that have been on my bucket list for a long time and finally I am on to them seriously!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm a slow traveler who values meeting people and sharing time with them. Couchsurfing is a great place to meet people who live locally. I am a very curious person who wants to know about the culture, people, history and politics.

Interests

I love cooking and gardening（I am particularly into Permaculture!）. Traveling is also a big part of my life. Love seeing something new and I enjoy writing about it. Like all the other writers I am very curious about people's stories, culture, history and politics.
Back in Melbourne I was also doing pottery and occasional knitting. Lots and lots of baking. I love anything creative and all those creative people!
