I'm a 3rd year at College of the Atlantic in Bar Harbor, ME where I study literature and Human Ecology. At the moment I'm doing a full term of independent study in the UK studying English literature. I'm busy traveling to different locations that are relevant to celebrated authors, writing in response to my experiences, and of course reading many wonderful books--I'm happy to talk in depth about my study in person, but that's the short and sweet answer.

I get a little intense about literature, but other than that I'm a fairly laid-back person. I don't cook, but I'm always happy to help out, and I rock at clean-up and dishes. I'm quiet, clean, organized, and always up for a new adventure.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet new people! I only know a few people here in the UK, so it's nicer to stay with people than in a hostel or hotel.

Interests

I like to read and talk about good books. I can spend hours in a bookstore (especially a used bookstore). Since I grew up in a tiny town in the middle-of-nowhere, I am happy to spend all day walking around towns and cities because you can set off in any direction and find something interesting. I enjoy being outside, going on hikes, and I have a serious love-affair with the ocean. I'm happy anytime I'm in a boat, particularly sailboats.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music and movies I'm not particular about, and there are too many books I like to list them here. I seem to be naturally drawn to novels more than short stories, poetry, and plays, but I enjoy every genre. I've read more 18th and 19th century English novels than from any other language or time-period, but Tolstoy and Hugo are genius.
