About Me

My name is Emily, and I'm the district manager of an axe throwing company.

I do stand up comedy, improv, and trivia night like my life depends on it.

If I'm not here, and not at work, I'm probably rock climbing, because that's my newfound love in life.
I've toured half of Europe, and 90% of the USA. Iceland is next!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My best friend, Carlie (Who also has a profile on here), and I have lived this repetitive life for too long, and we both have talked about going places and doing everything together, but now it's time. We are both at good places in life to just go enjoy living, and we're ready!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love anything that I can sing to, or just have a great time to. Music is the background to everything that I do!
I will read, but I don't have the time to, sadly. I've read all the popular ones (50 Shades, Hunger Games, Harry Potter.. etc.)
My favourite movie of all time is The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. If you haven't seen it, you should. It's basically how I feel in my life right now. What he goes through in that movie is exactly what I want to go through as well. I want to be spontaneous and just travel.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've won a world championship for DCI. (Imagine a fancy marching band competition).

Teach, Learn, Share

Honestly, every person I graduated with had the same goal (this is including myself), but what we all missed was the real picture. Nobody ever actually told us how life goes.. All anyone ever said to me was that "It's hard". (World's largest understatement...!) Every single person wanted to leave high school, go to college for 4-6 years, -hopefully- get a good job, get married, have kids, and hope you have a 401K when it's your turn to retire.
I don't want this. This isn't my dream, and I'm not like everyone else. I want to jump out of planes and swim in every ocean, and in 5 years, I want to be able to speak 10 languages, and not because I took a course for them in high school. I want to show everyone; friends, family, coworkers, neighbours.. This is possible. You don't need money and a 5-star education to see the world.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my life stories and experiences. I can teach you to make the best white bread you've ever ate in your life, or I can teach you to be brave. The hardest part about living a life like this is starting it, and I want to show everyone that it's possible.
