Overview
About Me
Hi, my name is Emily, a 50% Belgian and 50% South-African, 19 year old, filmstudent living in Ghent.
I was born and raised in beautiful Antwerp, but for my studies I recently moved to a cosy little studio in the centre of Ghent with my boyfriend.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love to meet new people and especially locals from the countries I'm travelling in.
I used CS whilst travelling in Australia last summer and it was definetely the coolest way to travel and meet new, local people. It really gets you in the vibe of the place you're visiting.
Interests
We love good company, exciting stories and delish food and drinks, especially cheese, wine and crunchy bread!!!! (French are extra welcome 😜).
We share a huuuuge love for dogs but unfortunately our landlord doesn't allow pets...
I study Film at the School of Arts in Ghent and Tomas studies East-European languages and cultures (Russian) at the University of Ghent, so I believe that says a lot about our interests :-).
We met in highschool where we both studied Acting, another interest of ours.
Lots of ❤️ and appreciation for Music too!

Music, Movies, and Books
I guess I kinda like a lot of different types of music and it's too difficult to choose a favorite, it depends on my mood, really. My all time favorites are probably; The Kooks, Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, Alt-J, Arctic Monkeys, The Black Keys, The Cat Empire,.... and so many more, I don't even know.
Movies, same thing, it's hard to pick a fave - there are sooo many! Pierrot Le Fou by Jean-Luc Godard is certainly one of them and I would recommend eeeeeveryone to watch it!
Books.. books, books, books... I often say I don't really enjoy reading but I actually quite do. I guess I'm usually just so busy with other things that I don't find the time to read and really enjoy a book. Although I do really have a nr.1 favorite book; Catcher In The Rye by J.D. Salinger!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've spent the past year travelling/living in Australia, Barcelona, Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Paris and that has been my greatest (life)experience yet. (+++ skydiving in Australia!)
