My name is Emily, I live in Brooklyn, New York.
I work at a doggie daycare because I love animals, so I really love my job! I also work as a personal assistant for my landlord.
I'm still exploring my neighborhood, going to parks in the warm months, going out to different restaurants, just taking walks and seeing what's around!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I moved to NYC with my rabbit recently after wanting to live here my whole life and I love it here, so I want to share it with people who'd like to see it.
A few months ago, I moved down the street from my Zen Temple where I had been living for a while, and now I have an apartment with a bit of extra space, so I thought it'd be fun to offer it to travelers!

I love Miyazaki movies, my other favorites are Black Swan, Crazy Stupid Love, and Perks of Being a Wallflower.
I am constantly listening to audio books, my favorite books are The Goldfinch and The Rosie Project/The Rosie Effect.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I lived in my Zen Temple for two months, then I moved down the street!

Teach, Learn, Share

I don't honestly have a lot of time to spend with my guests. I'm generally free on weekends which is why I thought I'd try this, but I do work a few hours usually on Saturday. I also go to temple saturday morning and evening, as well as Sunday morning. I'd be happy to go someplace with you while you're here, but I don't automatically expect to.
Guests are definitely welcome to come along Sunday morning if they'd like to see an American Zen temple!
