Overview
About Me
My name is Emily. I'm a visual artist and an advocate for all things creative. I believe everyone has potential to learn and grow regardless of age or expectations.
My husband and I enjoy traveling to new places and meeting people with a love and appreciation for life. We're a little quirky and prefer more authentic experiences when we are traveling. The only thing that would make adventuring more enjoyable is being able to bring our 16 lb. cat along with us as we venture.
Lately I've been exploring zine culture and mixed media with collage. I went to school for Art And Design, so I'm always elaborating on painting, drawing, and dabbling in more unconventional media. I'm learning how to play bass guitar, which is something I've been wanting to do for quite some time. I'm in an all-girl band with some friends and we sing sassy songs with a lot of word-play. I love promoting music and going to gigs. I am also interested in making short videos and taking photos, especially when hiking or immersing myself in nature.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My husband and I prefer to meet locals in the areas we visit because we think it makes the experience that much more enjoyable. We'd rather spend time getting to know people who have unique perspectives and can recommend local attractions that aren't touristy. Making connections is a big part of navigating this life. Why not make traveling about more than just our own experience?

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I lived abroad for a semester in Dublin, Ireland. It was a great experience and I met so many wonderful people. While I was in Ireland I made promotional art for a music venue called Whelan's and made an album cover for an Irish musician named Dylan Walshe.
