Hello! I’m from Columbus, Ohio! I work at a cabinet on weekdays, but I really want to find ways to explore the city and practice my Mandarin in my free time. I want to learn Mandarin so that I can speak with my boyfriend’s family and just because it’s a cool, oftentimes poetic language. I like hiking, literature, sharing delicious food with people, and learning new things.

My friend recommended this app to me! Since I’m new to Columbus, I’m looking for nice and patient individuals who would like to help me navigate the city, improve my shoddy Mandarin, or just be my friend. :) I really love meeting new people and I’m very curious about Chinese culture. Music: I’m a sucker for Kpop (and yet I’m learning Chinese!), but I also like some American pop. Overall, dance music is appealing to me because, well, I like to dance! I also like to listen to jazz and classical music.
Movies: Pulp Fiction, Shawshank Redemption, Spirited Away, Dead Poets Society.
Books: The Remains of the Day, Ender’s Game, Small Great Things, Kafka on the Shore, The Nest, Lord of the Rings trilogy, The Hobbit, Harry Potter series, Of Mice and Men, I Robot, Ready Player One, The Kite Runner, The Lonely Londoners, The Vegetarian.

I can teach you English or just teach you how to write better. I’m a writer at heart, even though my current schedule won’t leave me much time for that pastime. Anywho, I can always share a meal with you too. I really think my food tastes better when I share it anyways. Or you can just bounce ideas off of me because I love debating things and I’ll always give you an honest and (mostly) unbiased opinion.
