HI. I'm Emily. I grew up in Minnesota but moved to NYC 2 years ago to work as an urban forester. My current job is managing tree planting along the city streets in a specific area in Brooklyn.

I love living in New York. I get around mostly by bike and sometimes by subway or bus. I have learned to navigate much of the city and enjoy exploring and getting to know all boroughs.

I live with my domestic partner. We play together in a band and enjoy biking and see live music together.

I play drums in a feminist queer synth punk band! We play mostly local shows in Brooklyn but are now planning shows out of state.

I also play roller derby and spend a lot of time exercising and getting in shape for derby.

I have traveled a bit within the U.S. but have not done much international travel. I would love to change that in the next decade.

I joined couchsurfing years and years ago but never used it because I never lived in a place I would like to host, so I'm resurrecting my profile.

I want to get more involved now for one reason: I would like to travel with my band and be able to stay with new local friends wherever we decide to play.

I would love to host musicians who in the same boat.
