ABOUT ME

I have studied Linguistics, Medieval Studies, German and Scandinavian Studies, and Fine Art, and I am about to begin studying for my MSc in Cognitive Science. My personal life-goal is to contribute to smashing racism, inequality, and cultural misunderstanding in our global world. In large part my studies have focused on linguistics and semantics. I like modern art, good company, adventure, good food, good books, sensible shoes, beer, concerts.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe that if you work hard you should have the resources to have security. I believe in space, science, and dinosaurs, but also that faith, hope, and spirituality are inextricably connected to the human condition, for better and for worse. I believe that every person has the capacity to reason, and that everyone has the power to help someone, somehow. And that they should. I believe in celebrating the fact that we are alive, rather than mourning what we don't have. I believe that celebrating includes taking chances and leaving no regrets. You'll always be able to work, but how many nights do you get to stay up and see the stars?

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have been dormant on CS for a few years because a former roommate did not like hosting, but I am excited about re-joining the community and meeting new folks. I like to reach out to other people and help where I can. We're all in this together!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have met some really great folks who have surfed with a few of my friends. Some of them I still know, some not, and I have surfed a few times myself. I have a generally positive opinion. :)

Algo increíble que he hecho

Cycling along the Rallarvegen in western Norway. There's no feeling like success and exhaustion. It was literally the best thing I have ever done, and it was so incredibly beautiful. It was such a completely wonderful experience that I can't wait to get on my bike this summer and cycle away the weekends in the countryside. :)

Enseña, aprende, comparte

I can teach crochet, or help solve other DIY problems. I also can teach a mean English grammar lesson, proofread, cook, clean, whatever. I try to be generally useful.
