HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Hosting. I have hosted several travellers from my home in Vancouver, and in Toronto.

Meet-ups. In new cities and in my own city.

Surfing. I am currently using CS on a Pacific Coast cycle tour, and am meeting incredible people from this amazing site!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

It was a random Edmonton CS meet-up. Just visiting in town for two weeks. I walked into the bar, nighttime, slighty dingy; I did a quick walkabout scanning for general traveler-looking type people (I'm sure you know that awkward moment I'm talking about). I was looking for people who looked like CSers, trying to guess which group of people I was supposed to meet. I was about to give up and leave when I was spotted.

"Hey!", I heard.

A looked over to see several large smiles at a round table in the corner.

They waved me over. "Over here! Couchsurfing, right?"

Relieved and happy, I spent a couple hours relaxing and meeting some of the friendliest and warmest people, swapping travel stories and hearing about big adventures.

CS has rocked my world ever since.

Strangers = immediate friends. What a beautiful thing.
