Hey~! My name is Emily :) I live 20 minutes North of Ottawa, ON in Cantley, QC on a small, organic farm. I am heavily involved in the local DIY/DIT arts scene, and spend most of my time booking independent shows and promoting local arts. I work as the Volunteer Coordinator for a national non-profit arts org called Weird Canada, and promote shows with a collective called Debaser. When I'm not working for free, I'm planning trips on the cheap around North America (and someday, beyond) to meet new people and experience new cultural / arts scenes.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet new people in new places! My current living situation isn't great for hosting, but I hope to return the favour once I move back into the city :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Do-it-yourself and do-it-together (ie. independent) music is really important to me. In terms of genre, my tastes are pretty diverse! experimental, punk, lazy/summer pop, chill electronica.

Cosmicomics & If On A Winter's Night A Traveller, both by Italo Calvino, are my two favourite novels.

I don't watch many movies on my own, but I am always interested in watching other people's favourites!
