About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Better myself and find affinity with like minded souls through shared experience

ABOUT ME

Happy go lucky, joyous, bubbly, free thinking, sociable, realistic, philosophical, spiritual, adventurous, restless but grounded...one could say a complete contradiction! Tend not to respond too well to authority; there is always a more attractive alternative!

PHILOSOPHY

Realising that we are all made of the same stuff; energy (or stardust, if you prefer)! And the way that we choose to project this energy and respond to that of others will determine the way we are perceived and influence our outlook on life. Also the way in which every living thing is interconnected and part of an everturning wheel of existence. I've been exploring meditation a little more recently, the ways in which quieting and expanding the mind can lead to enhanced global consciousness, and therefore a more open and compassionate society.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love to cook for others. I like to sing and dance and get others involved whilst doing this. In my home country I always relish the opportunity to welcome people from other shores, from my own experience I know it can be a daunting experience arriving somewhere where you don't know anyone and aren't familiar with their surroundings. I love to be able to share my city, favorite places to eat and drink, to socialise and dance...and introduce them to a way of living that they may not necessarily have been exposed to before. I take part in and attend multicultural events, festivals and celebrations in my city, as I consider to be the best way to learn about life in other places; to become a truly global citizen.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

This is new to me! I've always heard that Couchsurfing is an incredible experience and one that provides much more of a mind's eye into the people and places that we visit. I'm of the age that I've well and truly done the backpacker thing, I'm much more interested in getting to know people on a one on one basis rather than as a homogenised drunken rabble. I love to learn about the way that people live in different places of the world.

Interests

Traipsing restlessly across the globe in pursuit of deeper meaning whilst recognising the value of my roots, subverting the dominant paradigm, dancing like it's nobody's business, making artwork (sketches, collage) discovering hidden corners in every place I come to know, making new connections in these places, eating delicious and spicy foods from exotic destinations, finding joy and beauty in all people, places and things, breathing energy and good vibrations into the atmosphere...
