About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Saving pennies for my indefinite hiatus

ABOUT ME

Where to start.....My most obvious physical characteristic - I am a redhead (ranga, ginger, el rojo, firetail). I like to think I am friendly, talkative and bubbly. I love sports and the outdoors - I play soccer and enjoy bike riding, volleyball, yoga, beach time and camping! I like autobiographies, thriller films and most types of music. I have 2 dogs and have previously owned a goat! My mum is Irish and my dad is Greek Cypriot and I have 1 younger sister. My favourite colour is blue and consequently the majority of my wardrobe is blue! I've spent the past 4 years learning spanish but still need a lot more practice (especially with past tense!). I would love to learn another language, I just haven't decided which one! I like to have a few drinks, and cook a good meal, but most of all, I like to share it with good friends, or new friends!

I am new to couch surfing, but have done my fair share of hosteling and Air B&B.

I look forward to meeting you!

PHILOSOPHY

There a heaps of philosophies that I would like to say are my own, but to be honest, I haven't quite figured mine out yet. However, I do like the following quote from Carroll Bryant, and I think it applies quite appropriately to travelling!!

“No matter how many plans you make or how much in control you are, life is always winging it.”
― Carroll Bryant

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have been to an Indian wedding!! It was crazy, amazing, insane, colourful and delicious!!!! I was lucky enough to be invited to the full week of celebrations, wear a sari and have my hands painted with henna. It was a beautiful experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

I really want to find another NGO or not for profit that I can have a personal connection to and in time, help support. I am hoping that my experience with couch surfing will provide me with an opportunity to learn about one that is currently unknown to me. Currently, I volunteer for an organisation called Hagar. Hagar is a specialist aftercare agency that works with women and children who have survived trafficking and severe human rights abuse. This cause is something I am extremely passionate about, and I would love to be able to share it with like-minded couch surfers!!
