ABOUT ME

I would say that I am driven, outgoing, passionate, nerdy, and friendly :)

I'm 24, and while I have been blessed to be able to travel a fair amount so far, I have lived in San Diego, California my whole life except for a short study abroad experience in Córdoba, Spain. I graduated with my Masters of Education and teaching credential in July 2015. I just moved to Palma de Mallorca on the Balearic Islands in Spain in September 2015. In Spain, I'm an English teacher, and I love my job and my new home!

That basically sums it up! I strive to be kind, compassionate, helpful and supportive in all aspects of my life. I believe that simple human connection is so incredibly important, and my goal in life is to act as a friend and/or support system for as many people who need one.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I unfortunately do not have room in my apartment to host guests, but I am happy to meet people here in my new home of Palma de Mallorca and show them some of my favorite spots and introduce them to my favorite people on this island paradise!

Music: Anything singer/songwriter makes me happy! Some of my favorites are Brandi Carlile, Ingrid Michaelson, and Brett Dennen. I grew up on Broadway musicals and bluegrass music, so those are always near and dear to my heart!
Books: Harry Potter, The Sirens of Titan, The Bluest Eye, The Unbearable Lightness of Being

Also, I am slightly addicted to Netflix and am obsessed with Lost, Doctor Who, Parks and Rec, 30 Rock... :)

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

When I traveled to Costa Rica a few years back, I visited a center that works on butterfly conservation where my cousin used to live. I was watching the butterflies swarm all around me, and a monarch butterfly landed right on the tip of my nose.

While studying abroad in Córdoba, Spain, I had a week off of school and decided to travel to northern Spain. I was exploring the beautiful nature in a tiny town in the region of Galicia, and although my Spanish was by no means perfect, I was able to chat with a local man about his life and his hometown. He offered me a ride to the hiking location I was looking for, because he said he wanted to pay forward the kindness he received when he was an exchange student in Switzerland years before. The kindness in people and the connection between strangers is such a beautiful thing!

I am a fitness instructor, and I'd be happy to share my love/knowledge of Turbo Kickboxing, PiYo Strength and other things fitness related! I've been singing my whole life and can share interesting music with you and attempt to teach what I know about singing and Broadway music. I don't claim to be the best dancer by any means, but I know a few line dances, so if you want to learn some cheesy fun Western American style dance moves, I'd be happy to teach them! :)
