I am a student currently wandering around Russia and Europe, learning Russian and interning.

I am a fairly relaxed person who likes to meet and learn from others and take those lessons with me wherever I go!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My former housemate Matt and I hosted a few surfers at our student home during our undergrad and I am hoping to get more involved.

I am travelling around Russia, Central-Eastern Europe, and Scandinavia this summer and I want to meet people to who enjoy life, like to have great conversations, and go on random adventures.

Interests

When I'm not in school, I like hiking, cycling, playing sports, spending time with friends, and, of course, drinking beer. While traveling last year, I drank a beer from every country. I intend to do the same thing this summer.

I enjoy traveling, exploring new places (I'm a geek for infrastructure), and learning about the people I meet along the way.

Music, Movies, and Books

Over the last few years my ability to read has suffered quite a bit. However, when I have gotten the chance to read it's been quite varied. Authors from George R.R. Martin, Milan Kundera, Colin Mccann, James Frey to the Russian Greats.

Music is much easier! I like artists like Ben Howard, Basia Bulat, Lapsley, Of Monsters and Men, Jonsi, Fleetwood Mac, and Haim.

And for movies, films like Ida, Leviathan, and Woman in Gold. Any movie that is either a historical period piece or has excellent cinematography (or maybe both!) has my heart.
